After a little drama I came on time. Early enough to go around there with peace, too late for sitting there to eat something. Not much after I came I saw someone who I remembered that I know, but I couldn't remember who. After she noticed me and signed for "hello" - I was sure it's the studio owner from the last workshop of Maria Juncal. Few of her students came too. And there was an old dancer who I'm not crazy for although she has a "name" of a great dancer (and a crazy person). Couldn't really see anyone I know and find as interesting. When I got in to the hall I was a bit nervous. It's a show of a dancer from Spain, a show which I recommended to come and see, I know that till the very end Suzanne Dellal which gave the hall made commercials and sold tickets. At the start there were no many people.... Even that nothing really comes to me at the end - I wanted the hall to be full. Till the show has started I got relax. The hall filled with audience. One guy who sat next to me made me nervous instead cause he got into my space and it took me a long time to push him away. I also so someone who looked like a Facebook frind of mine who I never met before.
The show itself:
Jose Porcel came with pretty large crew. I can write their names, but it will be a problem for me to tell who were who all the way. All were new to me (maybe accept one of the singers) for the big surprise, there was only one piece of paper to tell things about it. A bit about flamenco, a bit about Jose Porcel, who made the show... Still not a word about what's the plan at the show. There was a guitar player and a violin player, they both written as guitar players: Victor Márquez and Juan Jiménez. Two singers who were also palmeros: David Vazquez and Roberto Lorente. Two women dancers: Leticia Calatayud and Inmaculada Aranda. On the cajon: Javier Fernandez.
It started with dark. Music has started. A bit of light has been open on one of the women dancers. She was sitting and danced while sitting, no moving from the chair. Dark again, the same thing with the other dancer which was sitting at the other side of stage. Dark, the light has been opened over the musicians and Jose Porcel who was standing between them with the back to the audience. Again dark and the lights over all stage. The women left stage with their chairs. Jose Porcel kept on dancing. The other dancers got back. They danced a bit without him till he got back. Three of them danced together. Many of the movements were like each for his/her self but with a lot of connection to the others. The musicians were wearing black. At this part - the dancer were wearing some simple clothes.
After the opening part there was a musical part. A buleria. At the start both singers were sinning. It took me a moment to find out that I know this song and learned a bit one letra of it last year. After a while one of the singers made a solo. There was a part that he stopped sinning. After a moment he got up and walked to the edge of stage, near the audience. He started dancing while sinning. His dancing steps were very basic and simple but he made it with a lot of grace. His sinning was still great. After that was the same with the other singer - a short solo, a short playing, he stood up and danced a bit near the edge of stage and got back sitting. His solo was shorted and good the same.
The part after... One of the women got back to stage "in a storm" for dancing an alegria. She had a lot of connection with the musicians. She looked at them from time to time for knowing that they notice what did she do. I noticed she signed the singers with her hands at least twice. Once it was for they would calm down with their palmas. Even at the moments that she signed them not by the book it looked great. She "got out" for one compas of buleria. Stopped a bit, so did the musicians. It moved to another palo which I didn't recognize. One more stop, a shorter one. It got back for a buleria for she will go down from stage (salida).
Dark again. When the lights got back - the other women was standing between the musicians. She was dancing a beautiful red bata de cola dress. Really amazing. It made her look more exotic. She started to dance a long solea. I could enjoy this part. I love this palo and she made something pretty, but most of time it looked that she's wearing the bata just for she could look pretty. She did nothing special with it. She could wear any flamenco dress. Most of dance I thought: "What the hell? I could dance something really complicated! And why does she need this bata?". Just at the end - a minute or two at the end of solea she started to use the bata as bata need to be used.
Dark again. A little light at the side/edge of stage. A wooden box was there while the open part is down. The light only showed the bared legs of Jose Porcel. He danced Without any shoes. No music. After a wile his hands got down to the lights and "danced". The bit of music which started was mostly for to sign the beat. I could see that he don't wear a shirt. It looked like this at the light, it looked like this when my eyes got use to the dark. Lights on. He really didn't wear a shirt. GOD! What a body! I hardly could notice that the musicians really joined him at this part. He danced this way - at the light, shirt off and no shoes for only a short time before he left stage. The musicians still worked. After a while he got back with a shirt, a jacket and red shining shoes. A string which had no connection was stuck to the jacket. Jose threw it away in a way the audience liked. The jacket itself went down again fast. two buttons has been open. He danced this way for a while.
He left stage. The musicians moved to sit in a half circle. The women joined sitting with them - each near one of the singer, each at the front of the other. One more buleria. Each of the dancers danced again by her turn a bit from her chair while sitting. One of the dancers got up, "took" the singer at the front of her, danced with him, got back with him to his place and danced a bit alone. The other one did the same after. Jose Porcel came back after that with a new shirt. They danced three of them - again like each dance to him/her self but with a connection. Some steps they did really together.
End of show. Accept few - the audience stood on their feet. Some went to the doors before fin la fiesta. The guitar player took a chair, one leg on the chair, his guitar leaned on his leg like it was until Paco de Lucia changed it. The first to dance at the fin la fiesta was the cajon player. It was a bit clumsy, but nice. Jose Porcel took the violin. The violin player made a try too. A bit weird. He took his violin back. The singers danced each by turn while the "dancer" is still sinning. They both made it with grace. The three dancers made their part together with a magical mess. At the salida - the singer who made the first solo at the start of show and fin la fiesta started to run in circles over all of them. And ran out before all. It was funny. They got back for the bowing down.
After show I was talking with the woman I thought I know through Facebook. Yeah, it's the same person I thought she is. I never met her in workshops, but I found out that she learn the same number of years as I do in another studio. Her daughters learn flamenco as well

Yo... Todavia nesecito a practicar. Mucho mas facil para mi con Ingles porque las escuelas aqui, peliculas, musica otra de flamenco....
