El Loco

Recuperamos de nuestro repertorio el ballet El loco, de Javier Latorre.

Ballet inspirado en la peripecia artística y existencial del bailaor Félix Fernández ‘El loco’ y su desgarro interior tras seguir hasta Londres a Diaghilev, Massine y los Ballets Russes para estrenar El sombrero de tres picos. Un espectáculo de danza sobre la danza. Una reflexión actual sobre el artista y sus demonios. Un vívido elogio de la locura.

After watching Alba. Again

Compas Company has started a year ago with a show called "Alba". It's a flamenco version for "La casa de Bernarda Alba" by Federico Garcia Lorca. Mijal Natan as Bernarda Alba. guest start: Silvia Duran. Choreography by Javier Latorre. I went to the premier and loved it. Vlada Vest that decided to go on dancing, but leave the stage has been brought again to this production for being Adela, the youngest daughter. By this time - Guerau Cabrera who was at Compas Company for 4 years has got back to Spain, probably forever. Vlada Vest has started an afair with Javier and moved to Spain as well. Now all got back to Israel for another round. I went to see it again at the evening it was in Tel Aviv.

Well, hardely people that I know at the audience. There was one kid that I know through the studio. She came with her family. Javier was outside and came to her. After Spanish kisses on cheeks with her - he went away. Looked at me for a moment but prefered to ignore. OK, let's say he probably forgot me aothough we met at the last time he was here. The kid goes now to a workshop that he gives. I was surprised to see that at the audience were some blind people, really blind. So, that is a project to make accessible for blind people to get some colture. This time it was with flamenco.

So, at the second time it's a masterpiece. I noramlly sit in the middle of the row and I did it in the first time. This time I was a little in the side. It changed me everything, but maybe it's because I'm a photographer. I was sorry that I don't have a chance to take some photos of it. Maybe if I asked for it - I could take some in the rehearsals. Anyway, looks like someone listened to me, or maybe it's because of the place I was sitting... There is the moment a bit after the show begin that the dancers who do the sisters change their clothes on stage. There is a little light on them. When I was at the premier - the light was a little too strong, mostly on a certain dancer (I won't say who) who need some better underwear for it.... I told Ayelet about it few days after. This time it was pretty dark at the place where they were standing. Although I already saw this show, although I know this story before - I hoped something will change, something at the story itself. I guess because it's a sad story and I know personally in a way all the people on stage. The only things that changed were the way I saw it with the engle and the fact I was less afraid from Bernarda.

At the end there was a talk with the artists for who wanted to stay. All dancers stayed on stage. Mostly Mijal and Javier were talking, Silvia a bit talked as well. At the first time I was afraid of Mijal because of part on stage, now less. But someone else was afraid. Someone else from the audience told her that he was afraid of her. She said that it's her part, she needs to be scary at this show although she loves people in real life. Javier told her how to do it. He did it well with all dancers. And not all the same in this show and real life. Also Moran who dance Magdalena, the oldest sister - at show she's silly but she's a strong person in real life. Another person asked for the reason for her dancing flamenco. I heard it so many times... Amazing stroy, but... Silvia was her first teacher for flamenco. Now I know that Silvia even remember that after the first flamenco class that Mijal took - Silvia told her that she will dance pretty. One of the women who came with the blind (I'm not sure if she's really blind or almost blind) said that she understood what happened on stage thanks for the shoes' tap. She knows know what she's missing and it was an amazing experience for her. Mijal so moved from it that she got down from the stage to hug this woman.

After the audience started to go - I went to talk with who I could from the dancers. Some went to back stage. I deceided that if I have the chance to talk with some at the hall - I won't disturb the others at the backstage. Few days after that (I admit it took me few days to write this post) I met at the studio Vlada and Javier. They were two of those who went to the backstage when they could. This time Javier remembered me, kisses and a bit of talking. I told Vlada I was there. She said that she saw me. I told her that I was glad to see her again. I really meant it
