After watching Ada

Well... Días de Flamenco is normally at the spring. As far as was another war - it almost cancelled this year. Adi Agmon Foundation which produce this festival decided that it must goes on at a different date. So it's during July. Instead of 3 days - this time it's 5. Instead of all of it will be at Suzanne Dallal Center, Tel Aviv as it's always - a part of it is still there, some at Jaffa. And this time without any dancer from Spain. At the original date for the festival this year - meant to be a premier of a new show. A show called "Ada" of Hadas Nestel. It's still took a part of the festival, still the premier - few months later. This year - this is the show that I went to see. It took a part at Suzanne Dallal Center. I was a little surprise to see it has some renovations at the main building. The show meant for a small hall in a different building. And the photos up are the way I found it. The next thing that was a little disturbing (I mean it made me jealous) - there were 3 photographers working there. I guess that one was for video (and it leass disturbing). . I just came to watch....  At the audience and proudction I met some people that I know. Most I was happy to see. With one of them who was working as a stage manager is someone that I knew a long time ago.  I was surprised that she was happy to see me till a hug, but I like surprises like this. One person that I know came a moment before the show meant to start. We looked at each other, a little smile and she ran to her seat. I guess that she knows that was the maximum kindness that I can give her now (and even that took a year from my life).

Ada:

Idea, choreography and dance: Hadas Nestel
Guitar: Ilai Burla
Singers: Ofir Atar and Miriam Levy
Percussion: Nissan Reuven

Sorry that I get into it, but it took some time till doors openning, it took some time till all audience got in, the show has started in 20 minutes late. And even than there was a couple who got in after the show has started.  Near the stage there was a lamp that I noticed that it isn't a refular one of stage, but... Till the end I forgot about it. Most of flamenco shows starts with sad and "heavy" beats and become happier. Here is went reverse. All musicinas on stage, Hadas was wearing a red bata dress and had a yellow manton. She was sitting next to a little table with anoth lamp which looked like a backstage. A moment that the music has started slowly and Hadas just warmed up. After a moment if went out for pure happy flamenco. Sorry, with all other details that I remember... So it was a happy one with a bata, most of time with a manton. The manton stayed on stage till the end of the show. A part of the audience couldn't let the musicians do the palmas at some of the moments. Too much noise from the audience.

There was a musical part which Miriam Levy was the lead singer, but not the only one. After the musicians finnished this part - they went out of stage.

Hadas got back to stage. She was wearing couple of flamenco shoes, but with clothes which looks ordinaly. And a bag. A little bit recorded music. And lots of Hadas voice at the reorded sounds. The flamenco shoes went down. A part that looked like fringe theater that became some modern dance. It finnied after Ilai got back to stage and got back playing. The other musicians joined for another short part of music.

The next thing - Nissan Reuven stayed, the other musicians went out again. Hadas got back with another red dress. And a cajon. It became a duet of cajons. After a while - the door of the hall has been opened. It freaked me out. But a moment after - the ushers took out a fainted woman who was at the audience. Another woman went out with her.

When all musicians were again on stage - a solea. I won't make a spoiler, but when it finnished there was another moment that looked like a fringe theater. And for the end - a siguiryia. It finnished with a moment of dance without music. And the only light from the lamp next to stage. Hadas took it.
