Last Thursday - the weirdos came out
This Thursday once again went to the restaurant on the beach for watching flamenco. Eti Guri was sinning, Eitan Bartal was the guitar player this time and sang at some of the songs too, Moy Natenzon was the cajon player, Adva Yermiyahu was dancing as usual. This time they invited Yael Tuchfeld to dance with Adva. Yael got back from Spain after almost a year with brakes. She made it there to perform too recently. I'm still not sure if it's another brake or for more than that. I decided that I must come this time to the show because of Yael although it wasn't the only flamenco event for this evening.
When I came I made to say hello and hug both dancers. I gave Adva a CD with some videos I took last time I've been there. I made it talk a bit with Shiran too who came again, but this time she didn't really took any photo. She was sitting with a friend of hers who looked familiar but I don't remember from where. After that the sift manager asked me if I accept that this time he will give me a table with another person. I said that I do as long as I will sit next to the stage. He gave me a table with a stranger. The table was close to stage, but because of the way the restaurant is built - it wasn't a very good place to see the show. It was seeing the dancers too much from the side or behind after some effort. The stranger took the better side of table before I made it to say anything. I ordered some food, he took his time. The waitress thought we're together and needed that I will tell her that we're not. The stranger seemed like he doesn't mind. When I received my order he remind to invite as well, but I needed to ask for a fork.... The napkin came with it when I finally get my fork. I noticed that Andreu came, but before I made to take his attention he's gone. After that he came back to talk with Shiran. I came to say hello to him and talk with them both. When I got back to my place the stranger didn't think to ask for my name, but he asked me who are the people I was talking with. He said that he's looking for connections at the flamenco and this is the reason for him to come. Well, I'm dancing but I'm not a pro. He doesn't think I'm interesting enough. I told him that I came to see flamenco and I'm writing about it. I guess that he didn't notice that part of "writing about it". Better this way....
The show itself didn't start on time (as usual) and made it few more minutes because was a little mistake which was ruin the sound. It needed to be fixed. After that - Only a song as usual to those shows. If I remember well - this time it was a rumba for a start. After a little while of music a solea por buleria has started. Adva and Yael came up to stage with white shirts and skirts which look the same, but Adva was wearing a red one and Yael wearing a blue one. It made with a lot of they were dancing together, and there was a little part for each one made a solo. Because of my place I couldn't see all the solo of Yael.
After that Adva joined the palamas and Yael went to change. A lot of good music till Yael got back for dancing an alegria. I can say only one thing about it: she was great before her time in Spain, she got back truly amazing! I have no other words to tell how much pleasure I had to see her dancing. Some more music. Adva was dancing her own solo after that. Sorry, I don\t remember well now which palo this time, but it seemed like I fell for her style a long time ago. I always love seeing her dancing.
A bit more music and a brake. I was still at my place. I noticed that Andreu came back to talk with Shiran but from time to time look at me and smile. After a while I could't help it any longer. I came to talk with them again. I told all the truth: in case they asked who's the guy who sitting with me - I have no idea. First time that I see him but I've been asked to sit with him. Still he asked me who are they without asking my name. Andrue said that they thought he's my boyfriend and I came with him, Shiran started to make a joke of it. Do me a favour! Well, like it wasn't enough - even without being a professional dancer I start to have some securities of a flamenco dancer. I noticed it this moment. Without trying I was standing with elbows far from my body. It didn't take too long till I felt someone comes behind me and combines hands with me, right between my left elbow and my body. It was the stranger. He asked me "So, do we go now?". I was too shocked for giving any answer. After a moment Andreu asked him "Who are you?". This weirdo didn't have any shame to make an insulting face and say "What do you mean? I'm her boyfriend!". He got stuck on Andreu. I moved to talk with Idit who came too. She said about Yael "She's amazing!". I said "I noticed!". And I told her what happened. She was shocked as well. Shiran came and Idit asked her if she heard what happened to me. I told her that Shiran saw it.
The show was about to move on. The musicians took their places, Yael took the place of the palmera. A girl came and asked if the place of the weirdo is taken. Eti and Yael felt like they need to help her asking that. I said that I don't know if the guy who was sitting there is still there or went away. She sat down next to me. No problem, she's probably better than the weirdo. A moment after that he got back and claimed his place back. Music has started. Shiran and her friend signed me to join them. No problem! I took my chair, I got some help from Yael's father to take the chair between the tables. After some music and after I started to relax a bit, after Shiran's friend took care if I see the musicians or not - Eti invited another guitar player. Dan... I don't remember his full name. Very bad! Eitan gave his guitar for Dan will play instead. A solea. My still was on the cajon. After a long playing Eti joined sinning. It sounds so well that the audience as yelling and clapped hands more than once like crazy. I can't blame any of the audience who did it. Once Eti wanted to go on sinning but the audience didn't let her because of the beauty which came out from the guitar. Dan went on and Eti joined later on. after that Eitan took his guitar back.
One more dance of Adva, more music. Yael danced too again.
Fin la fiesta. Adi Akiva who stay few more days here joined and made a wonderful solo near the end. Few more made it before her, but no one of the girls before her made it so beautiful. I came up too, I was standing next to Andreu. Still needed to move from time to time cause people wanted to go through, once someone couldn't see well. The weirdo came to stand next to me. He took almost all place in the front of stage. He's been asked few times from other people from the audience to move over cause they can't see this way. He didn't accept. Shiran made a dance and looked shocked to see him in the front of her so close. For the finale - Adva didn't dance alone, but Yael did and invited Adva to dance with her and leave stage.
Well, about the shock of Shiran - I was right. A moment after the show was over she told me she was shocked from it. I was talking a bi more, I told Shiran that I wanna talk with Adva and Yael but I guess that I won't wait this time. I wanna run away from this place. She understood me. Adva came out after all, one more hug. I want to pay my bill. By the way the shift manager made a try to talk with me. I said that this time I was nice but next time I won't accept to sit next to a stranger. He said "Orna, I can't close a table for one person, not in a show!". Son of a bitch! I made it there more than once and never been told there was a problem with it! And not in a show? I wouldn't dare to go back this place without the flamenco shows! And even if I will be back again it will be only if someone will promise to guard me.
I said goodbye to some fellows. The shift manager saw that I was talking with Adi. This time he looked shocked. I was running back home to my dog and needed some time to relax. I still not sure what needed more to relax from - the amazing flamenco I saw and heard there or the experience with one more weirdo in a terrible restaurant

At fin la fiesta Adi jpined the dancing and Anreu joined the palmas. Idit Suslik also came, it's possible to see her too. She also joined palams and dancing at fin la fiesta. It's impossible to see me, somehow I left out the frame all time. But at show itself - it's possible to see a crazy guy who came to see the show and was next to me. The show near the sea
So much in it... It happened in a restaurant in my area with a view to the sea. Still first time I was there inside (and probably also the last if won't be there another flamenco show). Just in case you didn't see the publishing here, forgot or not really focused - I mean to a show which included Adva Yermiyahu (dance), Noa Drezner (guitar), Ofir Atar (sing and at some of parts also played a guitar) and Maayan Doari (percussions).
I came early to catch a good place. Outside I met Noa (who apologized that she's sick and it's better she won't get near me), Ofir and Maayan. After "hello" and after a short conversation - Noa sent me in. I made a try to catch one of the tables near what looked like a stage. One of the waiters got into stress from it cause "those places are reserved" (no matter there was no sign for it). I was looking for another place. A girl said that me and another one can join her table, they are a couple and there is a place for more people. I thanked her and joined this table. The other woman joined the table next to us. German tourists who probably came by chance and didn't know what's about to happen.
As far it was a restaurant - I ordered something to eat, but something easy (the hour and fact I didn't want to go with a big hole in my pocket in the end). Horrible service, at my case they thought I should eat with my hands, for the couple I joined their table - the waiter almost forgot to bring them their order. By this time the girl I sat next to her asked the waiter when would the show start. Half an hour. Already after the time of invitation... When I finally started to eat - came the bata girl from Neta's studio. She came with a friend. At the start they passed me by, but a moment they found a table of their own she noticed me. She came to say hello and kissed my cheeks like we're old friends. It was a bit weird but it's hard to say that I suffered. She asked me if I know who else would come. No I don't, I even know about someone who told me who won't be able to come. She told me that she heard about it from the Russian girl. I told her that I knew about it through Adva. She looked surprised. After this weird talk she got back to her friend. A moment after - the Russian girl came with her husband. Another table. I signed the bata girl where is the Russian girl. At another table next to me sat a witch who I know through two workshops... Another one who made a little try to look nice (yeah, right.... take your broom and get away). Till show has started - many people filled the restaurant till some sat on garden chairs without any table.
The show itself has started with a late of 40 minutes. Hard to see because of number of people and the way of restaurant built like. For a start - a buleria (if I remember correct). Noa, Ofir and Maayn of some like a stage. People were still talking like nothing happened. After a short part - Ofir said it's a bit hard so if it's possible a bit silence (still some noise). He introduced the musicians. He said that next part will be an alegria and for that Adva will join for a dancing part. Adva came thorough the people to stage while wearing a velvet dress in colour turquoise. Not sure I saw this dress before. Adva was unique as she always, another prove that I can enjoy an alegria when others dance it. The audience became silence accept palmas and "regular" hands claps. Even the German tourists started to show some curiosity. I stood up in a try to see better. After a while I saw one of the German tourist makes me a sign to look back. By this time I noticed someone touch me from behind, One of the waitresses looked at me like she's about to kill me. She said that I hide to others. I didn't even notice that they are there, now I noticed and saw saw that they also look at like "burn her on the altar". The waitress said that if I want to stand I must stand behind, if not - I must sit. I sat, she went away while staring me as long as possible in a kill look. Great, I came early for standing behind? Are you joking? The alegria finished a bit later on. Adva joined the cuadro for palmas.
There were few more musical parts. I wan't really into finding out which palos any longer. The fellows were great, but I started to wonder if it was a good idea to come. It wasn't their fault, only the place which I think wasn't good enough for them. Adva stood up for another dance. Once I had a little argue with the witch. She moved a bit and it was harder to see. Once she and the romantic girl got too close to each other till I couldn't see a thing. The romantic girl didn't give a damn a thing, the witch noticed only after the girl I sat next to her helped me. The witch of course was the next to wish for my death. After few parts Ofir said that tey are about to take a brake, but before it they will make a tango. That was a short part. Ofir sang a letra which I know very well from the improvisation classes that I take this year. Adva made a dance for it which looks very different from the style that I learn dancing to it.
A brake. I wondered a bit more if I want to stay. Great artists which made a great job and still I couldn't really enjoy it. At the end - I made my choice to stay. After all - Adva didn't see that I came and I wanted a chance to talk with her and let her know that I came, and this is before mansion the musicians who did see that I came and I noticed something that made me think it won't be a good idea to tell them the reason for I went away in the middle (although again - NOT their fault). I found out it was good that I stayed. Some other people went away includes the romantic couple, it less claustrophobic (I have no fear from that, but in cases like this it isn't too nice) and it was easier to see. Even the witch made a try to look like she cares if she's hiding me or not.
Adva changed her dress. A black one this time. One more part - music and dance. I started to relax and enjoy. Eitan Bartal was there. They didn't say a thing that he's a part of show, but Ofir introduced Eitan and called him for stage. Eitan took Ofir's place and Noa's guitar. Only Maayan went on with him. Eitan sand and played the guitar. That part was a rumba. I didn't know this rumbe before but it was a cool one and after this evening so far I was happy that I recognized the palo. When it was over - Noa and Ofir got their places and guitars. Ofir told what was it. Happy I found out myself. I said so, didn't I?
A bit more music. After few more parts - Ofir said that they are about to finish with the purest flamenco, the most jondo. Great! A siguiryia just for me! One amazing siguiryia for the end. At this part Adva got back dancing.
Fin la fiesta. Very few joined from the audience. Adva danced. Ofir a moment after her. One brave girl from audience who joined them danced as well. A bow down.
I paid for my meal. The waiter was waiting even for the tip. For that not even that hurry up - the waiter waits next to you for the money. He looked disappointed from my tip although it was like it's accepted and I'm not sure the service was worth it. After that I went to talk with Adva. Hugs of course. The musicians felt like saying "hello" again. Noa asked me if I enjoyed. The show itself? Of course, anything that I heard and saw. Maayan didn't ask that but sent hand to hand for asking how am I doing. Cool... Adva asked me as well if I enjoyed. No! With artists like that? She thanked me for coming. Fine, I have a dog to take for a night walk. Good that I have a reason to run away, I hope I won't have a good reason to come back there

After all - Adva didn't see that I came and I wanted a chance to talk with her and let her know that I came, and this is before mansion the musicians who did see that I came and I noticed something that made me think it won't be a good idea to tell them the reason for I went away in the middle (although again - NOT their fault). I found out it was good that I stayed. Some other people went away includes the romantic couple, it less claustrophobic (I have no fear from that, but in cases like this it isn't too nice) and it was easier to see. Even the witch made a try to look like she cares if she's hiding me or not.
Adva changed her dress. A black one this time. One more part - music and dance. I started to relax and enjoy. Eitan Bartal was there. They didn't say a thing that he's a part of show, but Ofir introduced Eitan and called him for stage. Eitan took Ofir's place and Noa's guitar. Only Maayan went on with him. Eitan sand and played the guitar. That part was a rumba. I didn't know this rumbe before but it was a cool one and after this evening so far I was happy that I recognized the palo. When it was over - Noa and Ofir got their places and guitars. Ofir told what was it. Happy I found out myself. I said so, didn't I?
A bit more music. After few more parts - Ofir said that they are about to finish with the purest flamenco, the most jondo. Great! A siguiryia just for me! One amazing siguiryia for the end. At this part Adva got back dancing.
Fin la fiesta. Very few joined from the audience. Adva danced. Ofir a moment after her. One brave girl from audience who joined them danced as well. A bow down.
I paid for my meal. The waiter was waiting even for the tip. For that not even that hurry up - the waiter waits next to you for the money. He looked disappointed from my tip although it was like it's accepted and I'm not sure the service was worth it. After that I went to talk with Adva. Hugs of course. The musicians felt like saying "hello" again. Noa asked me if I enjoyed. The show itself? Of course, anything that I heard and saw. Maayan didn't ask that but sent hand to hand for asking how am I doing. Cool... Adva asked me as well if I enjoyed. No! With artists like that? She thanked me for coming. Fine, I have a dog to take for a night walk. Good that I have a reason to run away, I hope I won't have a good reason to come back there
