Antonio Canales at Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico

The National Institute of Flamenco is proud to announce the first Visiting Professor of the 2014 - 2015 academic year is acclaimed flamenco choreographer and artist, Antonio Canales. He will be in residency at the University of New Mexico for five weeks during the months of August and September 2014.

Canales will work directly with UNM’s Flamenco dance majors; setting new choreographic works andfacilitating intensive training through daily technique and repertory rehearsals.

Antonio Canales follows Nino de los Reyes, Sonia Olla and Ismael Fernandez as next in a star-studded line of artists in UNM’s designated flamenco guest line of Visiting Professors through the UNM Department of Theatre & Dance.

We are thrilled to welcome Antonio Canales to Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico!
