After watching UNDUETRIO

That's the new show of Compas Company. It includes Michael Schneider as a guest dancer at this show. This time it took me a little time more than the usual to write about it. A crazy week, lots of nervous because of other things, not enough sleeping, not enough concentration and this show is very different. Although this show is very unique and I enjoyed watching it - this time it took me a little time till I figured out how to start writing about it. And I didn't receive a decent way to promote it here before watching.

So Compas Company. This time without live music, a thing which makes it different from most of their shows. It isn't the first and I know that a former show with a recording music will return to stages at February, the official publishing will come soon. Accept Mijal Natan, the manager of Compas Company and main dancer - the company dancers who takes a part at this show are Ayelet Shachar, Moran Ron, Lia Sheinfeld and Guerau Cabrera. A guest dancer for this show is Michael Schneider who I mentioned at the start. He made a little part of flamenco, but he's a young dancer with a back round of classic ballet and modern dance. He came mostly for dancing ballet and Clasico Español at this show.

The show itself starts with a duet of Mijal Natan with Michael Schneider. It's a new version of an old dance that Arik Alfassi made for the company for a former show. He also comes from ballet, but not the "real classic" type. The idea has been taken, they made a mix between steps that the company remembered and some new steps. It was fit to the ability of Michael Schneider. As far as I saw the original version long time ago - it looked familiar and different at the same time. Still it was interesting to see it this way.

Lots of this show was including Clasico Español. Most of it was Clasico Español. From time to time was a flamenco brake. There was a flamenco dance from a former show (Quince, if I remember correct) which is mostly of Moran Ron. Once again a different version. At the original version the other girls join and dance together while she do the opposite of them. Now she's always do her thing while the other young girls and Guerau Cabrera come and go to dance next to her for a moment. At the original dance she starts with taking off her flamenco shoes on stage. It starts this way at this version too, but there is a difference at the end. At the original version she takes her shoes and put it on again. This time Guerau Cabrera takes the shoes from the stage's floor and give it to her.

One more new version for a dance from a former show was a dance that originally took a part at the show Pavo Real. At the original version it was a dance that has started as a duet between Vlada Vest and Kirill Sivolapov. Mijal Natan has joined at the middle. Well, this time Vlada Vest doesn't take a part at show although was until recently at the company and probably will be back soon. Kirill Sivolapov was a guest dancer at two other productions of the company, but he never was a real member of the company. This time the duet has started between Lia Sheinfeld and the guest dancer of this production - Michael Schneider. All other parts has stayed the same.

A new dance that has made for this show was a dance with music by Johann Sebastian Bach. The start of it is a solo of Michael Schneider which gave him the freedom to show his ballet dancing. For a while at the middle the company danced flamenco by this music at the back while Michael Schneider didn't stop dancing ballet. The combination looked very interesting to my eyes. I think that ballet is also beautiful, but I don't have the chance to see it much and have much experience of it. I loved to see it now and see that it goes very well with flamenco. I guess that for other people it could look and sound weird (few years ago I could think it's a weird combination), but the way they did it looked very natural. I was amazed from watching the result. It was a reminder for me why do I love to watch dancing shows.

And coming back to Clasico Español - this show was including a dance that Mijal Natan made for a Piee of music called "La Vida Breve" of Manuel De Falla. She didn't make especially for the show, but this show brought it to stage. She didn't dance it on stage, the other dancer of the company did. And when I say that it's a new dance on stage but didn't made for this show I have an explanation. For the past two years, a little time after I have started to learn at her studio she has started to teach at one of the classes that I take at her studio some dances that came from Spain, made before flamenco and flamenco has some influence from it as well. For a long time it's Clasico Español. "La Vida Breve" was the first she was teaching. For making it for stage she still made few changes. It was exciting to see it from the side. I could have the chance to see on stage a dance that I learned (oh my God, am I in THAT high level?), to know that I learned it and see the little changes that has been made for the stage. It was a pleasure to see that although the time that has passed since - I still remember a big part of it (but still a reminder in case I will dance it again) and the fact I could see it isn't the same till the end.

At the end there was pure flamenco dance, a tango that made as a fin la fiesta. All the company was there - Mijal Natan herself and all her company. It took me a little time to remember from where do I know this dance. No, it wasn't at a former show. After a moment or two I could remember. Even at the classes of Clasico Español  always finish with pure flamenco. Every class of Clasico Español  we move over to 15-20 minutes of pure flamenco. That's a dance I learned myself at the same classes, probably not much after we finished with "La Vida Breve". This time few more changes. This time the difference isn't big. At classes we made all as a group. On stage some of parts at this dance they made together, but each one received a solo part. The same steps from classes, but not all as a group. All stayed on stage. While someone got a solo - others made palmas like in a tablao. And again - I was amazed to see it on stage and to know that I learned it. .

After watching it I got into the backstage to talk with the fellows. I know that Mijal Natan was a little stressed if she didn't make it a little too "heavy" for the audience. Well, no. It wasn't "heavy" in any way. I was different.

David and Bat Sheva (cause I didn't see it enough times)

This time no line dramas and not many people that I know at the audience (although I did know few). Someone that I don't know took out Guerau for a moment a little time before the show. Oh my, dancers change their clothes fast.... He was dressed in a way which better for a practice than going on to stage.... When he noticed me he was hurry getting back to change and get ready for stage. I made a try to say "good luck".

There were some familiar faces at the audience, but less than I used to.

Well, once again watching David and Bat Sheva. First time I saw it at the original version with Arik Alfassi as King David. He's from the ballet. It's the third or fourth time that I see it with Miguel. This time I had the chance to take some photos of one rehearsal for it. Still didn't get an answer about all photos that asked to publish. I'm not sure that I have anything new to say about the show itself. I guess it mostly how much I love flamenco, how much I love this certain show, how much I love the people who were on stage.... And this time I know all at personal. Some I just love as dancers and respect as people, others I love as dancers and I love as my friends.

Once again were few little changes at the people who were on stage. Girls were all girls at Compas Company, all were at the last round as well. All at the parts they made before. The difference is about the men. Ilan Miller received a bigger part than last round - last time he was instead one dancer, this time he took a place of one more dancer. Yogev Zorea took a place of another dancer and had a bigger part than last time. Guerau Cabrera took a part as this show for the first time at a part which always been there, Uri Kohen still there at the big part he always danced there - Uriah. After all the times that I saw this show - for me it isn't a question if I enjoy it, it's only about it I notice the difference each time. I do notice and it feels like watching a new things each time. It isn't really feels like the first time cause I know what comes next (although I don't always remember all), but it's another crazy experience.

This time I was worried the most about the getting into the backstage after the show. All people that I know the best at the hall were on stage. I wasn't sure if anyone will hear me call. At the end me and few more who worth this entrance as I do found a way, although people who daily workers at Suzanne Dellal didn't like it.

I wanted my photos with the men that I love the most there - Miguel and Ilan. By the way Igaely who used to be at the company came to see the show. He also came in a bit after me. He said "How pretty you are" while touching my hair. Ilan noticed me a moment after that and said that he isn't used to see me this way (I have a theory about that, but that's for another time). I said to Ilan "Look how pretty I am". He accepted. Miguel came out with his daily clothes. I missed having a photo with him as he's wearing his clothes from the show... But first thing he had to say "Orna, un beso". A kiss on every cheek. The sweat was still there. Well, our friendship is THAT deep that he feels convenient to kiss me this way, I DON'T see it disturbing. After a while I got my photos:

Arik Alfassi came with his wife. His wife took those photos. Igaely wanted the same as I do - photos with Miguel and Ilan. I took two photos of three of them in close version, at my phone.....

Arik Alfassi told about his experience of watching it with Miguel. It was his first time to see it with Miguel at the part which used to be his. By the way I found out why did his face looked familiar to me.

After that I said to Miguel and Ilan that Ilan made many mistakes. Now they need to do all show from the start. Ilan was shocked. Miguel said to me "You are bad, very bad....". Maybe I am, but I want some more of them and some more flamenco. Ilan said to Vlada that I said some bad things about him. He said it at English for it will be easy for him to say it in a way that Miguel will understand. I continued this line and told Vlada at English that they must dance this show again. Now.

At the end I stayed for a long time at the backstage, at least for someone who didn't work there at that evening. By the way I was talking with Miguel about options to meet personally

David and Bat Sheva (once again)

Last week many things happen to me in the second time. Pavo Real, a workshop with Miguel Angel, photos, David and Bat Sheva....

David and Bat Sheva is a show which made by and for Compas Company by the biblical story. From the start it had a place for a dancer from outside the company as King David. The original King David was Arik Alfassi who isn't a flamenco dancer, but gave an impact made it with modern senses. Time has passed and his his place as King David took Miguel Angel. Long time ago when this show has start running - I saw it with Arik. It was long before I wrote the blog, when I started - I didn't know what to write. I had a fuzzy memory it was a special thing to see, but... Accept of one or two little scenes - I couldn't write much about it. And now - it was about time to see it in the version with Miguel.

This time - a moment before I got in the hall - I saw that Ilan is about to pick his ticket.  It took him a little while to understand who say hello to him. He isn't used to see my hair like this... In the hall - once again people who I don't get how do they found a place near me. And try to move me from my place. When Ilan got in - he asked me how do I get all those good seats. I said I have contacts (a joke, I ask for those seats). And he sat behind me. Until show has started - I could talk with him about the workshop (which I'm going and he gave up).

When it started - it took the couple near me to shut their mouths. When they finally did - what a joy. My eyes were burning from non sleeping, but time passed by quickly. Things from the show became more clear. One thing I remembered has been removed, probably cause it didn't fit Miguel. And it includes a brake. After the brake - there is a solo of Miguel which he made for this show. It wasn't in the original thing. Maybe Arik Alfassi did have a thing like this, but it didn't look the same at all and I can't remember. This part is new by Miguel. As it's with him - the whole show is much more pure flamenco. And he's amazing. I just forgot that King David has a smaller part from Bat Sheva.

I did remember most of set. The main idea I did remember - a "door" in the middle behind all dancers. I did remember that it has a lot of use, but I didn't remember that more accept King David comes in out through this door. And the fact it's possible to see with the lights when they comes behind the fabrics.

It was to remember again and see the difference.  I could remember now what did I find in this show in the first time (yeah, biblical stories can be fun sometimes), but this time I liked it more. Maybe because it was more pure flamenco now, maybe it's because that this time - with all the respect to Arik Alfassi - it's with Miguel. And Miguel can do anything so powerful and I adore his talent, no matter what he do on stage. Maybe it's because of both. And to remember...

and it had a long fin la fiesta. The couple next to me... The man who is the worse between them asked few times if it's over now. The over audience hardly let the dancers go down.

Kirill Sivolapov was in the audience. Ilan left me for a moment and I saw Kirill Sivolapov (who dance in Pavo Real) go out from the hall and get in quickly to the backstage. I was still outside and waiting. Many people did. Ilan came back. He knows personally more than I do the dancers of Compas Company. He was talking with some. Someone took photos. We were waiting. One of the dancers told Ilan about the party we both missed. Keren from the company's back work went out . She said it's funny cause last week she saw both of us standing there together, and here we go again - she see us now standing there together. After that - Ilan convinced me that there is nothing wrong about to get into the backstage. I asked him to come in with me. Some kind of protection cause I never got into the backstage of the main hall there (Suzanne Dellal). He didn't want, but said that I should go in and he will be waiting - for Mijal as well. I got in. There was a locked door after the stairs. I guess I could call, but... I don't have Ilan's nomber although he's my friend. I wanted to go back and bag him to open the door for me. And a saver - Kirill Sivolapov went out. I ran up again. The door locked up again. He asked me if I want to go in. I said I do. He opened the door for me. I thanked him and got into the new drama.

Inside others were talking with Miguel and I was waiting. One of the girls from the company who do knows me said hello. Then Miguel noticed me. I guess that because of the mess - we mostly were talking about his workshop after the kisses. And Mijal came still in one of the dresses she was wearing in the show. She asked me if I enjoyed it and we were talking about the differences between this and Pavo Real, and the little changes at Pavo. Miguel got back talking with the others. When I finally caught him again - two more photos and more talking about tomorrow. Kisses and good night. Or I guess it is... I couldn't find the way out and Miguel took me to the door.

Outside Ilan was talking with one of the guys from the company. When he saw me going out he asked me if I'm not gonna take wash myself for the next two months. No, at least not my cheeks. Or my clothes. Ilan said that he don't wanna know what happened to my clothes. I showed them both the photos. I said to Ilan that he's gonna see it in Facebook as well. To the other guy I said it was great. I need my sleep and have to update, so I said goodbye and got back home by walking.

The dramas won't over so quickly. My coat took off a flowerpot not much after I got out Suzanne Dellal. Not much later - the same street... Few men standing and started staring at me after a while. One of them called to me "Mam, the police will come in a moment because of the noise of your heels". Great...

A special mix show

This August will be a special show in Suzanne Dellal, Tel Aviv. It's a show of Compas Company. It will take a part at 4th August at the hour 21:00. This show is a mix that takes some parts from earlier shows of this company, show like Otros, Con El Tiempo and others. This time will be also a special guest: Arik Alfassi will dance with them. In the show Otros it's puzzle that each part someone "outside" the company made the choreography. I mean to very talented people like Miguel Angel and Rafael Amargo. The most different part there was the part that Arik Alfassi made the choreography. He comes from the modern style dance. For tickets: 00-972-3-5105656
