There was Días de Flamenco Festival. 30 years already....! Well, that's a special event, but we're in a war that didn't give the chance to make it in the ordinary way or bigger. Still the community thing and the will to live - it did happen. I got a ticket only to the last show. It was of my new teacher - Mijal Ben Zvi. She meant to bring a certain dancer from Spain to her show. Because of the situation - it came from her and not from Adi Foundation that produce the festival. Almost in the last moment he couldn't come, but he sent his friend Borja Cortés early eanough for an intensive week of rehearsals for the show. i'm happy that I got a good place in time, cause it was sold out.
I still came earlier. I saw some of the live shows outdoors that came for free. I meat many people from the community. From few I was hiding cause I didn't want to meet (in the end one of them did see me when I was almost in the way out... Amazing that he want to say "hello" now). At least many I did want to see. One of them is my friend Ilan Miller that I didn't see in real life for too long. I was catching him for a selfie:
Well, all musicians and Borja were around Mijal in the start. She was dancing and all around gave her plamas and music. It finished as a duet with Borja.
During the show were few amazing solos from start to end. Some of Mijal and some of Borja. Once he started with castañuelas. There was a moment of a little thing that makes it flamenco - openning a button in the shirt, oppening the vest and then go on dancing. There was a moment that all musicians with Borja around a table, knocking on the table the beat, from time to time palmas, Yael and Shuky were sinning a capella. One of the times tat Mijal got back to the stage - it was with a bottle of wine and 3 glasses. One of the glasses were moved between all musicans, all drank on stage and talked. One more moment of a little thing of pure flamenco without even sinning, dancing or playing. Near the end was a duet while Mijal was wearning a bata de cola. She was wearing it also during fin la fiesta. All was magical in this show till I'm not sure that I have enough words to tell all about it. The audience was all was standing on the feet in the bow down.
