A little cruel gossip
Oh my... It doesn't matter where I go - it's a big possibility that I'll meet someone who knows something about flamenco. This weekend there is a little festival of art in Tel Aviv - the kind of art for museums and galleries. It's a kind of open studios of artists. I went this morning with my mother, sisters and nieces to some studios. The last studio belongs to a couple of artists - a man and woman who live together and kinda work together. The man talked with an accent and between them - they talked a bit in Spanish. I found out a photo that I got crush on. I told them that I love it. They told me that this photo has been taken in Madrid. The man is a Cuban and the woman is an Israeli. They lived for few years in Spain and met there. 5 years of it were in Madrid. I said that it tells why did I love it - I have something with Latin people, I learned a bit Spanish which need to get improve and learn flamenco. the woman told me that she has a couple of flamenco shoes, she learned a bit in Spain to dance and learned a bit in Israel. She told me she knows two dancers from Israel who really in it. One of it from Be'er Sheva. It took me one moment to throw a name. It was who I thought it is. She told me that the other one keeps on low profile and mostly teach, more than performing. I did try to think who can it be, but it can be few. Later on - she said something about her time in Granada. I asked if there she knew that dancer from Be'er Sheva. She told me that I'm right about it. We talked about her. Now I know that this dancer was in Granada less time that she say (by what I heard today -she was there 8 months while she say she was there a year and a half). She said that this dancer is really over-rated herself (a thing that I think so too and it isn't the first time that I hear it from someone else). She asked me not to tell this to the dancer. Well, I won't say names (although Israelis who loves flamenco probably knows about which dancer I'm talking about). The artist thinks because of her it's because of flamenco. No, it isn't flamenco. It's her. I told her that I know many flamencos and some who really can do it great don't parade themselves. Ok, the artist said it is a thing of personality and for this dancer needs a lot of patience for treatment. It was a little cruel gossip, but... Those things needed too. The artist wanted to know from where do I know this dancer. It isn't too hard. Any case - I won't tell it to her face. Even if it wasn't cruel - I had a little fight with her guitar player (the horrible blogger) and I think that now she's angry with me too.
